On Wednesday 5th March the Company celebrated the installation of new Master Mr Paul Kelly at the annual church service in St Peter’s Cornhill. In addition, Mr Terry Thurley became Upper Warden and Mrs Julie Gubbins Renter Warden. At the lunch which followed, guest speaker Mr Jimmy Doherty regaled the Company with a few racy anecdotes about the new Master which marked something of a departure from the usual formalities of Livery speeches! The Master was very pleased to perform his first duty in office, which was the award of the Poulters’ Plate to Corporal Jonathan Finch of the Royal Anglian Regiment for his outstanding work with Ukrainian soldiers training in the UK.
